An enjoyable and exciting 3 weeks can be possible by ensuring that you plan and read extensively about this wonderful country.

The international airport is at Paro which is connected with Kolkatta, Bagdogra, Delhi, Bangkok, Dacca, Singapore, Kathmandu.

SAARC nationals need to show their passoport or voter ID card and should apply for an entry permit through their travel agent. Non SAARC national need to obtain a Visa before entry

While tourism is one of the major sources of revenue for the country, the Bhutanese Government is rather selective about the tourists coming. In an apparent bid to avoid the backpackers, they have a stipulation that non SAARC tourists need to spend a minimum of US$ 250 per day during season and US$ 200 in off season. Of this about US$70 goes towards development projects of the country. This includes free health and educational facilities for the citizens. In addition you need to route this through the travel agents. The amount includes all expenses related to hotel and travel.
The overall standard of hotels and service even in the remote areas of east Bhutan are of a good to high standard. Comfort and cleanliness are the hallmarks of a Bhutan stay. Some of the hotels had really huge rooms!
Thank you to the many people who made this a wonderful Bhutarn experience.
